"The research proves what gamers already know: within the limits of our own endurance, we would rather work hard than be entertained. Perhaps that’s why gamers spend less time watching television than anyone else on the planet."
Working hard at something we like is generally rewarding. Nice, huh?
It's not surprising that gamers spend less time watching TV.
Video games should be the highest form of art in existence.
Film, theater and TV are great, but they aren't truly interactive. Music is awesome, but the visuals are somewhat lacking and it's the opposite problem for painting and sculpture. Literature is great but it's hard to get interactive and the visuals are imaginary.
Imagine a piece of art that is visually stunning, musically astounding, incredibly acted, emotionally engaging for hours and hours AND is interactive.
Sounds like a video game.
